The child's care-giver and your speech therapist will work collaboratively to create a functional care plan to meet the child's needs. 

Our Therapy Services

Speech Therapy

Evaluation and treatment of speech sound disorders, phonological processes, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency, and voice.

Language Therapy

Evaluation and treatment of receptive language disorders/delays, expressive language disorders/delays, cognitive communication disorders, selective mutism, use of Alternative/Augmentative devices, and pragmatic language/Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Feeding & Swallowing Therapy

Evaluation and treatment of oral and pharyngeal feeding and swallowing, including infant bottle feeding, transition to purees/solids, restrictive/picky eating, etc.

Meet your therapist

Morgan Daur-Schierholz is a certified speech/language pathologist, maintaining her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) and license to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey and North Carolina. She graduated with her Master's of Speech Language Pathology in 2018.


Morgan's work experience prior to private practice includes providing inpatient and outpatient services to patients at a local children's hospital, evaluating and treating students ages 3-13 at a Connecticut elementary school, and providing speech/language services through means of telepractice


Given Morgan's work experience, she specializes in the areas of early intervention, augmentative/alternative communication (AAC), Selective Mutism, and dysphagia (i.e. feeding therapy). Additionally, she is well experienced in treating speech sound disorders, fluency, cognitive language, and pragmatic language including autism.

Frequency of therapy will be determined based on the child's needs, in addition to therapist and client availability. 

Our office is located at 1078 Main Street Unit 1, Branford CT. Your child may also be seen for therapy at their daycare. You will work with your SLP to determine the best location for services. 

Yes! Teletherapy is offered and encouraged for children who may benefit. 

The length of an evaluation is approximately 60 minutes. Each treatment session is 30 or 45 minutes. Length of session is determined on client need. 

Please contact FirstStartSLP@proton.me to discuss billing. At this time, insurance is not accepted, however a superbill can be provided upon your request and we accept HSA payments.
